A New Monthly Trilogy of Book Studies
We had a wonderful time discussing Sue Monk Kidd’s Book of Longings. We’ll keep a monthly gathering going from now until the holidays.
On Tuesday, September 21 at 7 p.m. at Fellowship Hall, we’ll gather and watch Rob Bell’s Introduction to Joy. Happiness is fleeting, but Joy is something that never leaves. It’s part-sermon, part standup comedy and suitable for ages 12 and up. Bring a friend and come ready to laugh, learn, and discuss!
Monday, October 11 at 7 p.m. we’ll gather to discuss Rob Bell’s book Everything is Spiritual. This book is so good, when I finished reading it, I flipped right over to the first page and started again. It’s part memoir and spiritual guidance. I believe in our discussion we’ll find that not only is God still speaking, but more constant and in more ways than we previously realized.
We’ll round out our Trinity of Book Studies with a book about SERVE on November 15, 2021 at 7 p.m. Sara Miles great book Take This Bread will be the subject of the night. A brilliant book about what happens when an atheist randomly walks into church and receives communion for the first time.
Each of these events are one night only. I hope you’ll join us in Fellowship Hall for each of these events.
Our fall new member classes will be held Monday September 20 and 27 at 7 p.m. and New Member Sunday is October 3rd at ONE UNIFIED SERVICE AT 10:00 A.M. This is also World Communion Sunday!
I LOVE new members! I love old members too… and people in general come to think of it. The most frequent question I get is about belonging. “How do I get involved here? How do I belong here?” I think about it in terms of four key areas. Those “4 keys” to being part of our faith family are: service, giving, worship, and small groups.

PUMPKINFEST! Join us for pumpkin carving, s’mores and a family-friendly outdoor movie on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 5 p.m. What movie you ask? Well, after carving we’ll sing pumpkin carols! All ages welcome! There is also a community movie on the Square the night before. My family and I will be there for that one and invite y’all out as well.
Due to rising numbers and with consensus of Caring Team and general vibe of this past Sunday’s 3 services the Chili Cook off will be postponed until January 30th. This will be held after one service of worship at 10 a.m.)
This will be subject to our numbers at that time. We hope to ensure the safety of those who can meet and eat without their masks on. For now, we will error on the side of caution.
