Worship

Sunday morning worship at Medina UCC, Congregational is a joyful celebration of the good news of God in Jesus Christ. We enter as a family of God, sing praise, lift our hearts in prayer, encounter God in Word and Sacrament, and go forth to bear the good news to God’s world. In worship, we experience the joy of Christian community, united in thanksgiving and praise before God, as we seek God’s presence and guidance for our lives and the world.

We enjoy three unique worship services each Sunday morning:  Chapel, Gathering and Sanctuary. The worship experiences among the services range from casual to more formal, from contemporary to traditional, from praise band and guitars to sanctuary choir and organ, from the simplicity of a fellowship hall to the beauty of a historic sanctuary, and from lay-driven to clergy directed. Each service is Christ-centered and Spirit-led, and invites the participation of all.

Special services are held throughout the year to celebrate the seasons and special days in the church year. These include Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunrise. At times we have services led by our young people and musical groups, or center on mission outreach and service. Once a year we gather at the Gazebo for Alive on the Square. Each Sunday, one or more teams from our “Joyous Message Ministry” will go to area nursing homes to bring worship to the homebound. We also join in services that unite the greater Medina community including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Good Friday, Baccalaureate, and Red Mass.
