Jesus was both connected and different. He was radical and rooted in his history. He broke some of the rules in order to more faithfully follow the most important commandments: to love God and neighbor. He gave out forgiveness without asking the religious leaders for permission because he knew who he was. He was a descendant of Abraham.

Having God’s favor is finding purpose and meaning in life. It is hearing sacred callings and finding sacred answers. It is responding to the tidings that came to you, by letting them become fully enfleshed within you.

The whole reason they were there was to share their light, and they still could have done that. Imagine if they had said, “Hey, the groom is already here! Come stand next to me, I have enough light to share, let’s all go together. It’s party time, and I don’t want you to miss out.”

Why did it take death to see happiness was up to me? If I knew then what I know now I would’ve laughed and danced and lanced every sacred cow. I thought I knew but I was wrong, cause life is short but death is super long.
